Personal Experience
While at Savannah State, Monroe played wide receiver on the university’s football team. Monroe also pledged Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. On the day of graduation, Monroe was selected as one of two graduating students who received the President’s Second Mile Award, which is the university’s most esteemed award given to two graduating seniors who demonstrated exceptional leadership on campus and in the local community.
Monroe later attended Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law where he was named to the Dean’s List. In law school, Monroe was a member of Cumberland’s nationally-ranked trial team and competed in national competitions in New York, California, and Texas. Monroe completed various internships during law school, including an internship for the Honorable Judge John H. England III in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Alabama. During his internship with Judge England III, Monroe was selected as one of the nation’s first Federal Magistrate Judge Association Fellows. During Monroe’s second year of law school, he was elected Vice President of Cumberland’s Black Law Student Association. In the summer of 2022, Monroe participated in the Firm’s Summer Law Clerk Program before joining the firm full-time as an Associate attorney.
Personal Life
Monroe was born in Fort Lauderdale, FL but was raised in Gainesville, FL. Outside of practicing law, he enjoys traveling with friends and family, watching anime, working out, and playing Call of Duty.
