$48 million jury verdict for compensatory and punitive damages in favor of a dozen Arkansas rice farmers who suffered damages as a result of Bayer CropScience’s negligence that disrupted the American rice market. On appeal, Hare Wynn successfully argued that the Arkansas punitive damages cap was unconstitutional.
$40.25 million jury verdict in Birmingham, Alabama, on behalf of a church music minister killed by a drunk driver. This verdict was listed as one of the 100 largest jury verdicts in the United States in 2013.
$27 million settlement in shareholder derivative action brought in the Delaware Chancery Court against officers and directors of Duke Energy Corporation arising out of misrepresentations made to utilities regulators.
$25 million settlement in favor of the Commonwealth of Kentucky against Merck Pharma, Inc. for violations of the Kentucky Consumer Protection Act.
