Personal Experience
David Brown did not grow up dreaming of being a lawyer—but from the moment he stood up in court and selected a jury, he knew he was exactly where he was meant to be. Although David started out studying psychology at the University of Alabama, a scholarship to the University of Alabama School of Law—and a selection on the Moot Court Board—pulled him into a world where his public speaking and problem-solving came together.
A Birmingham native, David was the first in his family to go to law school.
He majored in psychology at the University of Alabama, where he was on the President’s and Dean’s list as well as being selected into the Jasons Senior Men’s Honorary. He joined Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity where he served in several leadership positions. After college, David found his calling in law, and he has been dedicated to using his skills to represent clients ever since.
For many years, David worked on the defense side of civil litigation, gaining deep insight into how corporations and insurance companies assess, value, and try lawsuits. As he continued to evolve and grow as an advocate, he realized that it was time to fight for individuals, not corporations.
Since then, David has helped secure life-changing results for his clients. He has obtained millions of dollars for his clients primarily in medical negligence and commercial vehicle accident cases. David has successfully handled and tried cases around the Southeast. He was recently part of a trial team which obtained an $8 million verdict for the family of a woman who died after a doctor ignored her symptoms and committed medical negligence. He also recently obtained a close to $2 million dollar settlement in a trucking accident case.
David cares. He’s proud to be known for his empathy, his trial skill, and his ability to see a case from every angle.
From California, Nevada, Texas, Michigan to Maryland; David has routinely spoken around the country on emerging and important legal issues. He is a leader in the legal health care field in Alabama and has been invited many times to speak to nursing/health care groups on the proper care and treatment of patients.
David’s service goes beyond litigation. Among other things, he has served on the boards of the Shades Valley YMCA and Holy Family Cristo Rey, a school which provides college preparatory classes to families with limited resources. He also currently serves on the Parish Council for his church.
